This experiment introduces you to plant modelling in control engineering. Experiments 2 and 3 both provide you with methods to model plant, one from a time domain approach and one from a frequency domain approach.
The aim of the second experiment is for you to be able to:
- Verify that the position output blocks obtained in experiment 1 are correct
- Investigate nonlinearities in the DC motor and control equipment
- Obtain simplified motor transfer function by measuring static gain and pole position
